Google SS Plugin 1.1.0 Released


Google Speech Synthesis (GSS) Plugin 1.1.0 to the UniMRCP Server (UMS) has been released.

The plugin is based on the following components:

  • UniMRCP Server 1.5.0
  • Google Text-to-Speech API v1beta1
  • gRPC 1.7.3
  • Protobuf 3.4.0

The binaries are currently available for the following Linux distributions:

  • Red Hat / CentOS 7
  • Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

This release allows the voice name and gender parameters be specified globally in configuration file and also in SSML content per individual SPEAK request.

The detailed list of changes introduced in this release follows.
New Features
  • Added support for the default voice name and gender parameters be optionally specified from configuration file.
  • Added support for the voice name and gender parameters be specified in SSML content per individual SPEAK request. In order for this feature to be activated, a new configuration parameter 'bypass-ssml' must be set to 'false'.
Fixed Problems
  • None.
Configuration Parameters
  • Added a new attribute 'voice-name' to the element 'synth-settings', which is not specified by default.
  • Added a new attribute 'voice-gender' to the element 'synth-settings', which is not specified by default.
  • Added a new attribute 'bypass-ssml' to the element 'synth-settings', which is set to 'true' by default.
Miscellaneous
  • Updated the Usage Guide accordingly.
