Google SS Plugin 1.23.0 Released


Google Speech Synthesis (GSS) Plugin 1.23.0 to the UniMRCP Server (UMS) has been released.

The plugin is based on the following components:

  • Google APIs 1.10.0
  • gRPC 1.61.1
  • Protobuf 25.1

The plugin supports the following Google APIs:

  • Text-to-Speech v1
  • GenerativeLanguage v1beta (Gemini Flash TTS)

The plugin is available for the following UMS versions:

  • 1.7.0
  • 1.8.0

The binaries are currently available for the following Linux distributions:

  • Red Hat 8

This release adds support for Gemini Flash TTS voices via the gRPC GenerativeLanguage API. The release is built against a newer version of Google APIs.

The detailed list of changes introduced in this release follows.
New Features
  • Added support for the gRPC method BidiGenerateContent in the GenerativeLanguage API.
  • Added support for advanced voice options applicable to the method SynthesizeSpeech only.
  • Allow to specify instructions applicable to the methods BidiGenerateContent and StreamingSynthesize.
Fixed Problems
  • None.
Configuration Parameters
  • Added a new attribute 'instructions' to the element 'synth-settings'.
  • Added a new attribute 'temperature' to the element 'synth-settings'.
  • Added a new attribute 'advanced-voice-options-json' to the element 'synth-settings'.
Miscellaneous
  • Upgraded Google APIs from unigoogleapis-1.9.0 to unigoogleapis-1.10.0.
  • Updated the Usage Guide to reflect the changes introduced in this release.
