Dear UniMRCP users,
I wish you and your families a peaceful and prosperous new year!
Now, when everyone is likely back to regular working schedule, it is the right time to share the development plans for 2017.
First of all, I am glad to mention that all the currently supported components will be further maintained.
Next, on top of the open source components, there will be a number of commercial modules and services released in support of further growth and widening of the project scope.
Speech recognition plugins to the UniMRCP server for the Julius and PocketSphinx engines will be published in the first quarter.
As speech technology continues to rapidly evolve with speech recognition, synthesis and verification services offered by Google, Microsoft and IBM, there will also be standard-compliant MRCP wrappers developed based on the corresponding proprietary APIs. The wrappers are planned to be available staring from the second quarter.
Furthermore, there are certain plans to launch a public MRCP service. The details and timelines are still being discussed.
In other words, stay tuned and expect exciting news throughout 2017.
Thank you for your attention.
